The Bihar Assembly election results were declared late night for all 243 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party emerged as the single largest party by winning 89 seats, followed closely by its alliance partner Janata Dal (United) which secured 85 seats. The Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), another NDA partner, won 19 seats. Together, the National Democratic Alliance won a total of 193 seats, comfortably crossing the majority mark of 122 seats required to form the government.

The opposition parties performed poorly in these elections. The Rashtriya Janata Dal, which was the main opposition party, won only 25 seats. The Indian National Congress managed to win just 6 seats. The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen and Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) each won 5 seats. Other smaller parties and independents collectively won 9 seats, bringing the total to 243 seats.

In terms of vote share, the BJP received 20.08% of the total votes, while JD(U) secured 19.25%, making them the top two parties by vote percentage. The RJD, despite winning only 25 seats, managed to get 23.00% of the vote share, showing that their votes were concentrated in fewer constituencies. The LJP(RV) received 4.97% of votes, INC got 8.71%, AIMIM secured 1.85%, and HAMS received votes from their support base. Other smaller parties and independents collectively accounted for 14.00% of the vote share, while several parties received less than 1% each.

The results showed a clear mandate for the NDA alliance in Bihar. With BJP, JD(U), and LJP(RV) holding 193 seats combined, they had a strong majority to form the state government. The opposition’s fragmented performance, with RJD winning only 25 seats and Congress winning just 6, indicated a decisive victory for the ruling alliance in the state.
